December 25, 2020:
From Diane A: Praise that my friend Melissa reports that today she felt almost completely healed from COVID! Hallelujah! Please pray for my mom who was diagnosed with acute bronchitis over a week ago. Her COVID test was negative. However, her doctor believes it is a false positive. She has the symptoms that most people experience. We talked this eve and she looks and sounds good. However, I am praying she has a light case and heals quickly. My grandmother was also exposed to COVID. Please pray she stays healthy.

From Jessie C: Please pray for Jessie’s daughter, Jeanni; longtime partner, Scott; and Jeanni's son, Tyler. Scott was diagnosed with stage four cancer (not sure what kind), and they are all devastated. Please join us in asking the Holy Spirit to bring healing and peace to their family. She will update us when she knows more.

From Bruce W: Jan had successful knee surgery and the knee is doing well, but she is having a lot of pain around the middle and found that she has 2 compression fractures in the thoracic spine. We would appreciate having our church pray for her.
October 27, 2020:
From Diane A: For my cousin, Emily, who is in treatment for colon cancer and just had surgery last month, has just been tested for COVID-19. One of her kids tested positive this week. She and the other two kids have symptoms and were just tested. Please pray for healing over this family, especially Emily.
August 27, 2020:
For Alayne A.: Direction for the gastro doctor so that Alayne can keep her feeding tubes down. She is hoping to be scheduled for a procedure very soon to avoid more trips to the ER.
For Rosalie L: Prayers for Rosalie and her doctor during her hip replacement surgery this Thursday. Prayer for guidance of the doctor's hands and for peace, healing and ongoing freedom from pain.

From Amy P.: Please Pray for Cheyenne P. for healing and wisdom for the doctors. We are thankful she is in a different hospital that is better equipped to treat complicated cases. Pray for her little son Koa, who misses his momma. We ask that Cheyenne be well enough to go back home and be able to manage her illness at home. UPDATE August 13: Cheyenne is home and continuing to receive the care she needs while being with her family! Thank you for praying!
July 30, 2020:
From Bruce & Jan W.: Praises that Bruce's second round of chemotherapy was a success in shrinking the cancer tumors. Please be praying for an ablation procedure on August 17 to remove what remains of the cancer.
From Rachel & Ken V.: Pray for Rachel as she seeks relief from pain, swelling, and immobility on the left side of her body. Pray that doctors are able to determine what's wrong and recommend some kind of treatment plan.
From Bonny & Don R.: Be in prayer for Bonny as she battles breast cancer. She has surgery scheduled for Tuesday (7/28), followed by radiation. Both Bonny and Don are thankful that the cancer was caught at an early stage. Pray for Don as well as he cares for Bonny and manages his own health; Don was in the hospital recently for severe dehydration.
From Nicole W.: Prayer for Nicole as she recovers from a deep spinal procedure on 7/31 to help heal a back injury, greatly affecting the nerves in her back and legs. Pray also for God's provision to help cover the cost of the large pile of medical bills she has accrued.

From Nicole W: Please pray for diagnosis from a spinal specialist, effective treatment, and pain relief for an recent hip injury which is not consistently responding to physical therapy or chiropractic care.
From Karen W: Please pray for continued recovery after a recent overnight stay in the hospital due to an illness. Also please pray for treatment for ongoing anemia, which has been delayed due to Covid 19 restrictions. Pray for her good health and energy to return.
Also from Karen W: For her niece, Kathy, who sustained a shoulder injury last fall while ice-skating, which is not responding to treatment. Please pray for effective treatment and pain relief.
From Michelle P: From Michelle Popkes for her brother, Brian, who is underwent a kidney transpant on June 1st. Pray that recovery will go well for both Brian and the living (anonymous) donor. Praise to God, and much thanks to the donor for such a gift, which will greatly improve and an extend Brian's life.

April 26, 2020:
In the midst of all this craziness, Diane A’s cousin Emily was just diagnosed with colon cancer, stage 3A. It is in nearby lymph nodes but not elsewhere in the body. 89% 5 year survival rate. Please pray for 100% survival through God’s healing.
April 19, 2020:
Praise that Nicole W’s dad is home from the hospital and in a better, though still guarded condition. Requesting prayers for strengh, energy and sufficient rest for Nicole's mom as she tends to his increased needs, and for the family as they seek to determine how to best provide for those needs long term.
Also requesting prayers that Steve's unemplyment benefits will come through, and for provision during this time. And, please pray that the financial aid needed for Chandler's next year of college will be approved.
April 11, 2020:
Please pray for Nicole W’s dad who is in the hospital facing some serious health problems and not doing very well at this time. Pray that the doctors will quickly be able to determine the most effective treatment for his condition and that he will see improvement soon. Please pray for the family as well, especially Nicole's mom who is not able to be with her husband while he is in the hospital.
April 5, 2020:
Steve W. has been let go at least temporarily from his day job. Pray for provision during this time and that he will be able to return to work soon.
Nicole W’s dad had a serious health scare late last week. Pray that he will be able to remain as stable as possible until he can get the full treatment that he needs. Pray for the family as well as they do their best to support him and each other.
Pray for Nicole's cousin, Darren, whose initial cancer treatments are not working as well as expected, and that he will be able to get the adjusments to chemotherapy he needs for a more hopeful prognosis.
The elderly and all the others who are house bound during the COVID-19 quarantine. Many of our elderly and house bound are losing their faith & hope that they will be able to have a "normal" life; that they will have stability in their lives. These people are feeling that they are in a cave and there is no world for them. Also, lift all those people who are still working — keeping freight moving so there is food for our tables, all the health caregivers, police and emergency people. Pray for our leaders across the United States, pray they will be make good decisions. Pray for our spiritual leaders, who hearken to the Lord's voice and listen with their hearts to protect, love and tend the "souls” under their care.
March 22, 2020:
For Steve W’s employment, as he may be facing a temporary layoff (due to the limitations placed on the dental industry in which he works)
For Chandler W., that he will stay healthy in his new job at Safeway
For Nicole W., for relief from a painful hip injury for which she has to wait for care.
For Nicole's cousin with recent leukemia diagnosis and poor prognisis who is now being treated at home due to hospital lockdown.
For two family friends in CA who tested positive for Covid 19 (one is a diabetic), both are struggling. Pray for peace, wisdom, health and pain relief as they trust the Lord.
For Michelle P’s brother in Washington state who was to have have a transplant procedure this month, but it had to be postponed because the hospital has suspended those procedures until the threat of Covid 19 is over. Pray that both he and the donor remain healthy during the wait.
For Michelle & Scott P’s daughter and son-in-law who opened a dental practice on March 4th, but have now already been required to cease all but emergency procedures (as all dental practices have been mandated to do). Pray for peace and provision.
Praise that Bruce and Jan W. celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary yesterday (March 22). Both are healthy and well in Indio, California, and look forward to returning to Oregon later this spring as travel allows.
Praise that Brent W. made it safely back to Oregon.
Continued prayers that residents at Friendsview Retirement Community in Newberg remain healthy.
Prayers for CJ, Chandler, Miles, and Alayne as they transition to online university courses for the remainder of spring term and adjust to campus changes.
Prayers for Denise and Sara G. as both adjust to a loss of income from retail jobs that are paused for the time being.
March 15, 2020:
For memory care residents who are very confused at the changes in their schedules. They don't understand the reasons. Please pray for their health and peace and for the workers' endurance, peace and health.
Pray for first responders in our communities (a direct request from the Sherwood Chief of Police):
· Pray for physical protection from the virus and all illness for officers and their families so they can keep working, AND
· Pray for peace and calm for all first responders and their families
Pray for the school schedule and classes for both Chandler and Landon W. Both have music/performand type classes which can a bit more challenging to set up online. Also pray that the roadblocks to Financial Aid for Chandler's next year at college will be resolved and the funds will become available.
Pray for Nicole's dad who was improving after his procedure, but now the follow-up appointments for adjustments have been postponed and he is experiencing some decline.
Ken & Rachel V. -- for health and good spirits as they are confined at Friendsview.
Bruce & Jan W. -- for continued good health in California and safe travels home to Oregon at the end of the month.
Don & Bonny R. -- for good health, particularly after Don's recent health concerns.
-- for Matt H. as he transitions his high school classes to online and discerns when to take his postponed teaching certification exam; for CJ as he discerns whether to return to WSU and his on-campus employment, or stay home in Oregon to complete his courses online.
Brent W. -- for continued health in North Carolina, and safe travels between Oregon and North Carolina these next few weeks.
Jake & Rachel C. -- for good health as Rachel and Jake travel to and from work; for patience in navigating whether it is safe for the kids to play with friends; and for continued safety and health for their parents, particularly Jake's mom as she is recovering from recent health challenges.
Denise G. -- for health for Denise's mom and wisdom as Denise discerns how best to care for her; and for Denise's brother in Los Angeles, where grocery stores are reducing their hours and basic household supplies are growing scarce.
Karl & Jennie H. -- for health for Jennie's parents and particularly her mom, who is recovering from several major health issues and needs to remain self-quarantined.
Steve & Rosalie L. — for health and healing for Steve as we monitor his cold symptoms. For all of us to find productive things to do during self-quarantine. And for Jeremy as he starts training this week for his new job.
Mary V. - Pray she can learn to stick herself with a dialysis needle and learn the procedures and equipment use for home dialysis. Also that she would receive Encouragement in her home dialysis training. She is setting up a small needs pantry for residents of her apartment complex - pray it would be a blessing.
Residents of Friendsview Retirement Community in Newberg, where access is closed to nearly all outside visitors and residents are advised not to travel out. Keep the Vanden Hoeks and Sorums in your prayers.
