To Ease One Life

Hear these words from Emily Dickinson's 1864 poem:

If I can stop one heart from breaking,

I shall not live in vain;

If I can ease one life the aching,

Or cool one pain,

Or help one fainting robin

Unto his nest again,

I shall not live in vain.

As you prayerfully consider the Cedar Creek pledge cards that were mailed out earlier this month, what will you give to help our congregation encourage the surrounding community to experience the freedom, deep peace, and enduring love of Jesus Christ? How can we be a church that empowers our communities to not just survive but thrive?

As Jesus reminds us in Matthew 19, “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

The world around us is suffering, Friends. How will you share from the treasures God has gifted you in order to stop one heart from breaking?

Peace to you,

Jennie
